Payment Policy

TaskQuality ("we," "us," or "our") operates the TaskQuality marketplace platform (the "Platform"). This Payment Policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions and governs all financial transactions on the Platform, including fees, payments, refunds, and compliance requirements.

By making or receiving payments through the Platform, you agree to this Payment Policy. All transactions must be processed exclusively through the Platform’s secure payment system.

1. General Payment Rules

All project-related payments between clients and freelancers must be made through the Platform. Direct off-platform payments are strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension or termination.

Clients must fund milestones or full project amounts before work begins. Funds are held in escrow until milestones are approved or the project is completed.

2. Service Fees

TaskQuality charges service fees to both clients and freelancers as displayed on the Platform at the time of transaction. Fees are calculated as a percentage of the project value and are deducted automatically.

  • Client Fee: Applied to the total amount paid for the project.
  • Freelancer Fee: Deducted from the amount released from escrow.

Fees are non-refundable except where expressly provided in our Refund Policy (Section 4).

3. Payment Methods and Processing

We accept major credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and supported digital wallets. You must provide valid, up-to-date payment information.

Payments are processed through trusted third-party payment providers compliant with PCI DSS standards. TaskQuality does not store full card details.

Currency conversion, if applicable, will use the exchange rate provided by our payment processor at the time of transaction, plus any applicable conversion fees.

4. Refunds and Disputes

Refunds are only available under the following conditions:

  • Project cancellation before freelancer acceptance
  • Mutual agreement between client and freelancer
  • TaskQuality determines a valid claim of non-delivery or material breach

Disputes must be raised within 14 days of milestone completion or project closure. We may mediate but are not obligated to issue refunds. Repeated disputes may lead to account review.

Refunds, if approved, are returned to the original payment method minus non-refundable fees.

5. Strong Customer Authentication (PSD2/SCA)

Where required (e.g., EEA/UK), payments are subject to Strong Customer Authentication under PSD2. You may be prompted for two‑factor verification (e.g., 3‑D Secure, OTPs, biometrics). Failure to complete SCA may cause the transaction to fail.

6. Taxes and Compliance

You are responsible for all applicable taxes, including VAT, GST, or sales tax on services rendered or received. TaskQuality may collect and remit taxes where required by law.

Freelancers must provide accurate tax information (e.g., VAT ID) if applicable. Clients in taxable jurisdictions may see tax added at checkout.

7. Prohibited Transactions

You must not use the Platform for:

  • Payments related to illegal activities
  • Circumventing fees or escrow
  • Fraudulent chargebacks or payment reversals
  • Transactions violating export controls or sanctions

Violations may result in withheld funds, account termination, and reporting to authorities.

8. Escrow and Release of Funds

Client funds are held in escrow until:

  • Milestone approval by the client
  • Project completion and final approval
  • Dispute resolution in favor of the freelancer

Freelancers receive payment within 3–5 business days after funds are released, minus applicable fees.

9. Chargebacks

Filing a chargeback without first attempting resolution through the Platform may result in account suspension. We will contest unjustified chargebacks and may deduct associated costs from your account balance.

Note: This Payment Policy is subject to change. Continued use of payment features after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
